Streptopelia decaocto, the Canarians (1 Viewer)

Hi, I'm new here and not very experienced with birds. I have been to Tenerife, La Gomera and La Palma and I wonder if it is observed somewhat different sounds from the Streptopelia decaocto depending on island? On La Palma I have observed a longer third ko in the "ko-koo ko" than on La Gomera where the last ko sometimes is not hearable. What's your comment?

Eurasian Collared Doves (Streptopelia decaocto) have only recently arrived in the Canarias, so they won't have developed different calls. As Phil suggests, it might be the African species that you saw and heard, or maybe a hybrid between the two?

Yes, and welcome to the forum.
