Not sure if this is strictly birding. Was wondering if anyone could identify the vertebra found on a beach in southern England.

Looks like the vertibra of a Cod. You often get them washed up and they never look like they come from a fish, far to solid and birdy/mammal-like.

Been doing some research. All the fish vertabra I managed to find online tend to be disk shaped. Having said that, I couldn't find a cod.
