Can somebody point me the exact location of site in/near Kota Kinabalu with easy Blue-naped Parrots?
Also it is said to be another site nearby with lots of waterbirds (whistling ducks, rails etc) uncommon in Borneo.
Is Christmas Island Frigatebird reliable without taking the speedboat to offshore islands, and how?

Also, recent info on mammals in Sabah would be appreciated.

good birding,

dunno if info is still needed, if not maybe it can be usefull for someone else.

The Blue-naped Parrots can be found in tanjung aru/Taman Prince Philip, here you will also find Collared Kingfisher, Crested myna, Chestnut, Scalybreasted and dusky munia, pied triller, browncapped woodpecker, glossy startling, yellowvented bulbul, zebra and spotnecked dove, and more.

Waterbirds... is a good drive north for the nice spot in the Kota Belud area, you would want to get a guide with a car for that, place is perfect for birding from car:D Go there very early morning, as it heats up pretty fast.

Have not seen frigatebirds there yet, so cannot comment.

There are alot of mammals in Borneo: my last trip we had 6 primates, Slow lori, Galugo, flying squirrel, pygmy squirrel, giant squirrel, tree shrew, Malaysian Civet Cat, Common Palm Civet, Elephant, a couple of other squirrel species...

There's a large Frigatebird roost at the Mantanani Islands, plus you stand a chance to get the endemic Mantanani Scops-owl.
