Was heading out of the wildlife preserve today in the middle of a thunderstorm when I spotted something white in the swamp. Spun the car around and got out and sure enough it was a snowy egret!!!! Now I have seen these birds before in VA, but never, ever in northern NY.

Needless to say I was quite tickled to see one here, and only wish I had my camera with me as well.

I'll just bet you did a 180 ;) The snowy is probably at the top of my most admired waders. Of course I get to see them on an almost daily basis but I never tire of watching them and their side steps. Good for you!

I'll be back out there shortly as it's my fav. walking area, but tonight I will bring a camera along just incase I spot it again.

Came home and told my hubby who was like "yeah, that's nice"..LOL
