This has been driving me crazy for a couple years now. I never see who's making the sound but I hear it quite a lot. It sounds like a car alarm. The video is just the sound, no footage of the bird(s). It's from earlier today, Jan 31, 2024. Unfortunately I can't remember if I always hear it at a certain time of year or not.

We get TONS of birds around here, some of which I've read have been known to mimic (or just sound sort of like) car alarms, like Blue Jays, Cardinals, Northern Mockingbirds, etc... Could it be one of those? Or something I haven't been lucky enough to see yet? Or something I have seen but didn't know it could make that sound... The possibilities are endless! Lol

Interesting!! I see them all the time and watch them sing and call but I never actually see them when they do this one! Sounded like it was perched high up in a tree. Is it a territorial call?
It's their song. They have different song types, but they all have the distinctive rolling three-note series.
