    Christmas Island Red Crab

    There are 50 million (or possibly 100 million from one source) red crabs on Christmas Island, and once a year around November they all migrate to the coast to lay their eggs. We didn't see that of course but they were everywhere and you had to drive very carefully to avoid them.
