Endemic to Australia. These lovely birds are found in Northern Queensland but only a small part of it. You have to go up to the general Cairns area to see them. But they are moderately common in that area so you wouldnt have a problem finding them. I saw this one on the Tablelands.
Helmeted Friarbird. This strange looking bird is a honeyeater, endemic to australia. Only find them in the tropical north. I took this in yungaburra, Queensland
A young eastern spinebill perched on a banksia. Eastern spinebill is a species of honeyeater found in south-eastern Australian in forest and woodland areas, as well as gardens in urban area. This shot was taken at Mount Keira lookout, near Wollongong.
Until my recent trip north it had been a long time since I'd spotted this beautiful bird. The male is quite striking, I'll post one of him later. This is a juvenile.
