    The musk lorikeet's face is cute and round :) Edited a little for brightness.

    This musk lorikeet was enthusiastically feeding on the flowers of a broad-leaved paperbark tree. I was lucky to see this bird and others in the shorter trees, as opposed to in the taller eucalypts.

    Normally when our Flowering Gums are "Out" we get lots of Musk Lorikeets but this year just the noisy Rainbows.

    I cannot believe that I've not uploaded this image before. It was taken about the same time as the other Musk Lorikeets. Prints have gone into seven local art shows, it has never won a prize, but I like it.

    These Rainbow Lorikeets just take your breathe away. We had splendid prolonged views of them clambering over this flowering tree. (we were waiting for the bottle shop to open)

    Every two years or so our flowering gum tree has a bumper crop of blooms and hence lorikeets. Mainly the Musk Lorikeet (in the picture) but regularly the Rainbow Lorikeet, but I like theses best.
