    I'm presuming this is a pair of Red-browed finches as I think the one on the left is the male (the red eyebrow has a straight end) and from another picture it appears to show a pointed end for the bird on the right.

    A pair of Red-browed Finches appeared, along with their distant cousins, the ever-present Double-barred Finches. Quite a difference in size too.

    ... use eye make-up as bright as this Red-browed Finch is sporting LOL He was just outside the visitor centre where I'd somehow lost contact with Hans and Judy LOL No idea where they'd disappeared to. We soon joined up again though.

    These Red-browed Finches are so well named, aren't they. Quite unmistakeable with that red eyebrow. There was a pair of them at the waterhole I do believe I only saw these in Queensland.

    [Australian] Red-browed Finch

    I noticed this Red-browed Finch feeding on seeds next to a track in the Carnarvon National Park in Queensland, Australia. The Carnarvon National Park with its Carnarvon Gorge is a beautiful national park which I would recommend for birding. There were also many other smaller birds.

    .... dye my eyebrows red. What do you think?;) It's not always easy to get a singleton of these, as there's usually at least a pair and they often stick close together. This one though just got separated enough for me to be able to concentrate just on him. Quite striking finches, aren't they.

    After we'd booked in at O'Reilly's I had a quick look around the shop and lost sight of Hans and Judy. I set off to look for them and came across a few Red-browed Finches eating some seeds someone had put out. Pretty wee things, aren't they - you just can't mistake that red brow, can you LOL.
