    A Dark Rainbow

Strange how a different position gives a different result! After the nicely lit kookaburra, I get a poorly lit Rainbow Lorikeet, I have tried to lighten it a bit. Such pretty birds these with all those colours which you can't really see in this pic.... sorry 'bout that.
  5. Rainbow Lorikeet 'septentrionalis'

    Rainbow Lorikeet 'septentrionalis'

A different subspecies to the ones I see in Perth and Sydney

It seems a while since I showed you a Rainbow Lorikeet; this one sitting on a fence post trying to decide whether to come into the garden!
  8. Very colourful

    Very colourful

The Rainbow Lorikeet was really enjoying the sun after all the rain we'd had that morning. Colourful, isn't he.

An Australian Magpie was another species attracted to Hans' garden, here he is with one of the many Rainbow Lorikeets that visited too.
  10. B& White in flight

    B& White in flight

Another new species for me was the White-winged Chough when about half a dozen popped into the garden for a feed. Something spooked them and the Rainbow Lorikeets as they all took off. TTTW

    Lori

So many different species come in to feed and Hans seemed to be very busy all the time topping up the food and water for them!! This is a Rainbow Lorikeet, quite endearing little parrots,

Back at Ken's house a Rainbow Lorikeet was in for some refreshments. Such colourful birds.

    All the colours

A very pretty visitor to visitor Ken's garden, waiting to greet me on my first day in Australia. For some reason I'm unable to download pictures from my camera card to my laptop now. It wants me to 'format the card'. I seem to sort out one problem, only to be faced with another one or two LOL.

This fellow came right in to try and grab my chocolate chip muffin near Mrs Macquarie's Seat in Sydney...but he picked on the wrong guy as far as hanging on to a muffin is concerned! I've got the camcorder in one hand and the muffin pulled back in the other!

  22. 'The Pole Dancer!'

    'The Pole Dancer!'

This should brighten up everyone's day. Just for a change I decided to sit outside my kitchen window and see what reaction I would get from my local set :-) LOL It took the Lorikeets two seconds to come in to the feeders, my Hybrid was next along with the Cockatoos, Little Corellas, L/B...

  24. Not a rain cloud in sight

Not a rain cloud in sight

In fact quite the opposite and it was very hot! Rainbow Lorikeets look pretty at any time don't you think, but I thought these were stunning in the light up on that tree.
  25. Go away...

    Go away...

... this is my hole!!! The Rainbow Lorikeet seems to have taken ownership of that broken snag and was warning me that I wasn't going to get a look in!! My Saturday Fun effort for today.
