A tall order of an ID request - Ottawa, ON (1 Viewer)

Wondering if any ID is possible from these two photos. Not necessarily the same bird, but could be. Location: open field (uncultivated) with scattered trees, along March Valley Road in Ottawa.

My impressions are Rough-legged hawk for #1 and American Kestrel for #2.

I think I agree here.

Those are fine guesses.

I'd leave it as -
#1: probable buteo hawk
#2: falcon

I think the face mask is clear enough to call #2 as kestrel

I'm leaning kestrel for #2, but I can't get past peregrine (looking at the camera).
