First saw this tree in Greece c40 years ago, fast forward to today in Eastbourne I saw it for the second time, would be interesting to know it’s name?

Cheers

It could be Albizia julibrissin, Calliandra surinamensis or Mimosa hostilis.
All are trees, but although I have seen at least 2 of them in Australia, I never managed to work them out.
Just checked my image library but I don't appear to have any of them on file.

Might well be for all I know. Though there are (lots of?) similar-looking legumes.
Not sure you should trust your memory from 40 years ago... Capparis flowers look similar and are unrelated.
Flowers with this sort of structure tend to be bat-pollinated.

Yes, thanks guys, the Mimosa or Persian Silk Tree appears to be the colloquial name, much obliged to all.👍
