Quite incredible to watch this scene this morning, a large female Peregrine attacking and killing a migrating Hobby over the sea at Landsort, Sweden.

Wow great photos and I am sure it was amazing to witness. I am quite suprised that the Hobby couldn't just outmaneuver the Peregrine.

I watched our resident female Peregrine almost take out an imm Hobby over Pagham Harbour 3 years ago....the Hobby only just out-flew her and lost a tail feather, a small price to pay it woiuld seem....it never came back through! ;)

I am looking at the photos and thinking surely there were Pigeons, Gulls, Corvids, Waders and Ducks that the Peregrine could have taken and not a majestic little Hobby? That is nature though.

I have to admit I thought a Hobby might get away from a Peregrine too. The photos are awesome and just show how skilled the Peregrine is.

This is the 4th instance of a Peregrine chasing/attacking a Hobby I have come across. Do Peregrines hate Hobby?

Makes me how at risk the Kestrel is when hovering over open moorland with little to hide it from a Peregrine.
