Once a bird lover ... always a bird lover
Hello there

I have heard of this for years now, and I wish the public where made aware not to feed wild birds bread or cakes to wild birds - one is it messes with their bodies and two is they make a mess (poo) everywhere.

http://www.onegreenplanet.org/animalsandnature/feeding-white-bread-to-wild-birds-is-killing-them/

In Bedford there are signposts everywhere on the Embankment by the River telling the public not to feed wild geese or ducks bad bread, cakes etc.... The signposts are ignored. I have feed the Mute Swans... Swan pellets which can be bought in bird food catalogues, superstores, pet stores (it is getting easier to find it now) - it is common sense more than anything.

Anyone have issues with this problem in their area

Regards
Kathy
