Bad time of year in Colombia? (1 Viewer)

Jon Gallagher

Just back from a couple of weeks in Colombia visiting Las Tangaras, Rio Blanco, Rio Claro, and Santa Marta. I was wondering what others experience has been at this time of year, end August/beginning September. Very little spontaneous vocalization. Some would respond to playback, but others nothing. Even the mixed flocks were very quiet with only very soft contact calls. Often I’d be walking and not hearing anything. Is this a time of year thing, or weather, or what?

Cheers,

Jon
