Best rare bird alert for Android phone? (1 Viewer)

The bird guides app is very basic, whilst the RBA app has a modern feel with lots of intuitive features, its also very easy to build your own personalised alert filters i.e. county level, Mega's and specific species. I've used both apps and its RBA all the way for me.

Re RBA and Birdguides Apps on iPhone, neither is currently working following the IOS8 update. Just what you need as we enter the prime autumn period!!!!

Hi folks
Just noticed this thread and the reference to recent problems caused by the Apple iOS8 update.

We submitted an updated app to Apple on Thursday for their approval at which point it will be available for download. According to Apple they are approving 75% of app updates relating to iOS update within 5 working days so hopefully no much longer to wait now.

If you are an app subscriber and require an alternative service in the meantime such as website subscription or text alerts instead of push notifications we can arrange this for you. We did email all users notifying them of this but just in case you haven't seen this email.

We appreciate it is about the worst possible time for this to happen but with a website subs and/or text alerts we will make sure you are covered and don't miss any important news at this busy period.

Wishing you good birding
The RBA Team

Hi folks just to update you on the RBA app and iOS8 problems.

We are very pleased to inform you that our updated App, which has fixes for iOS8, and was submitted to Apple on 18 Sept, has just been approved by Apple is now available in the App store. It is v1.6

This release has fixes for iOS8, but has no new features. The last new features were added in v1.4 in August

On any device already running iOS8:
You need to download the latest version of our app (v1.6) from the app store. If you have any problems - please let us know asap by reply. If you have missed out on paid time on your App, please contact us and we will be very pleased to check your account and add time for your lost time and more as a goodwill gesture.

On devices NOT running iOS8:
We STRONGLY suggest that you do NOT update your iOS to iOS8 at this stage, unless otherwise advised. There is no need to update to run the Rare Bird Alert app. Other apps from other companies are still having problems with iOS8, and iOS8 has other problems too.

As ever, if you have any queries or problems about any Rare Bird Alert services, please get in touch with us through out website, asap.

Obviously we will be compensating users who lost time on their subscription as well as adding some extra time as goodwill.

Many thanks for your patience whilst Apple approved the fix. We hope that you can get out birding this weekend and enjoy the app.
