Bird id help (1 Viewer)

It's a male Golden Pheasant neck feather. It could come from a bird collection or have been purchased for hobby use, so it may not indicate a bird living wild locally.

Really? From your photo, they look to have a single terminal black band with orange inboard of that - which the OP's feather doesn't.
They have a second black bar further down the feather, which you do not see on the living bird.

The flank feathers of Alectoris species (Chukar and relatives) also have two black bars

but I agree th e feather in question is golden pheasant
 
At the risk of bringing down flames of condemnation from those opposed to the consumptive use of wildlife, I will note that such feathers are commonly used in making flies (lures) for fishing and are widely available.
