Birds from India (very blurred photo) (1 Viewer)

not a Variable Wheatear, it's much too large, the same size as the starlings and kingfisher
Good point. So, pass. (But NB that Asian pied starling and white-breasted kingfisher are not the same size - so there are other factors here, one being that the middle wire is likely closer to us than are the other two.)

From Birds of the World:
Indian Pied Starling 22-25cm, 76-90g
White-throated Kingfisher: 26.5-29.5cm, 76-87g (for fusca, the subsp in India)
So, they are pretty similar in size.

For comparison, Variable Wheatear: 15cm, 20-25g

For reasons too tedious to detail it's unwise to use weight data in making size comparisons. (I'll resist repeating my point just because you've repeated yours.)

I supposed there were at least two different species, apart from the doves, being one of them Asian (or Indian) Pied Starling. The controversial bird I think is more probable to be another Asian Pied Starling looking backwards, just by the similar size with the individual beside him.
Next time I'll try to focus better.

Thank you for all your comments.
