First spotted on the ground in stubble field near Rumps Point on Wednesday, with my camera packed I just managed to get a couple of distant out of focus shots as the bird flew off. From the very brief views on the ground it looked like a pale upright Skylark with a long slightly decurved bill still looking and flying like Skylark in the air. This interesting bird was looked for today among the Skylark flock unsuccessfully. My guess would be that it’s probably a deformed bill or something attached to it, although I would still like to have another better look at this bird.
