I live coastal and we’ve seen some pipits, we think, and this bird keeps popping up at our local weekend coffee cafe.

can anyone let us know what it is please. BTW it’s in UK

Yes you are right, it's a Rock Pipit. Exact hue of the dark muddy grey upperparts is good for this species and bad for Meadow Pipit, and legs are too dark for Meadow Pipits.
