Spring is approaching and we are eagerly awaiting bird migration. One of the most special places during migration is Eilat in Israel. Eilat is located along the route of over hundreds of million birds and is the venue for the Champions of the Flyway Birdrace (COTF). COTF is a well known fund- and awareness-raising event in global birding and conservation circles. Since the beginning in 2014 the conservation community has managed to raise around $500,000 for projects tackling the illegal killing of birds migrating along the flyways.

The latest campaign – culminating in the famous 24-hour Bird Race on March 27th – is in collaboration with the Association for the Conservation of Biovidersity of Kazakhstan (ACBK) and the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB), BirdLife International’s partners along these critical flyway, stopover and wintering sites for one of the world’s most threatened goose species, the Red-Breasted Geese.

Help the Red-Breasted Geese!

The ZEISS Harpies, would like to encourage you to consider donating to support the prevention of illegal hunting of Red-breasted Geese along their migration route and on their wintering grounds. Every donation made will directly go to the birdlife partners in Kazakhstan and Bulgaria, where field work and monitoring actions take place.
ZEISS will raffle 10 limited-edition t-shirts from the Champions of the Flyway 2023 race. All you need to do is to make a donation and leave your contact details. No matter how big or small the amount you donate, your name will automatically be entered into the raffle: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/zeiss-harpies
