Crabspider and Bee? (Cardiganshire, Wales) (1 Viewer)

I watched this spider shoot out from under the petals and grab this bee, at least I think it is a bee.
After a long search, I think this is a crab spider - Xysticus sp. maybe X. cristatus?
As for the bee, I have no idea.
Could someone kindly take a look and see if they can identify these two?
Yours, Gareth

I am afraid I can’t go any further than Xysticus sp , there seem to be too many almost identical species , that need very close inspection.
Thanks Creaturesnapper, I suspected so. Interesting watching it though. Clever little spider!

If you are bored there are a couple of hoverfly IDs on the list ;)

Thanks, Gareth

Sorry Gareth I am afraid when it comes to Eristalis sp it is best left to Diptera experts . Have you tried posting on One of the specialist Diptera websites? Diptera.info for instance they have helped me quite a bit in the past , but sometimes , the same reply , can’t be identified from a photo .

Thanks for the hint
