Dark eyed Junco? Stillwater Lake Pennsylvania Today. (1 Viewer)

Always finding a way to go off topic...

Hey all just had this bird in the deck at the place we are staying at just 10 minutes ago. It behaved a lot like a Junco but it seems very early to be one. Photo quality is very poor, so might not be ID’able. Is it a dark eyed junco?1C319218-3F71-48BA-A386-1882FCAD9E67.jpeg

Many thanks
Ev

Junco breeding range is weirdly sensitive to local conditions (elevation/temperature, I guess) but Stillwater PA looks to be safely in their summer range, even though about half of PA is not.

Dark-eyed Junco for sure. The species is found in July and presumably breeds in the immediate Stillwater Lake area, according to eBird.
