Early Warbler Sighting (1 Viewer)

I spotted a yellow-throated warbler about an hour ago on the oak tree in front of my house. While not unheard of this time of year, this is the earliest I've ever seen any warbler since we moved to central Florida in 2004.

Down south, we usually get most of the warblers trickling in during September - I haven't thought about whether they're a bit early or not...I know we got our front-yard buddy back last week - our yellow-throated warbler who's been wintering here for the past 3 years and loves to go to battle with the mirrors of my car:

I'm not sure how long the little guy is going to live - he's got to be 3-4 years old now - and it's got to be the same male, as he makes such an immediate beeline for my car the moment he's in town, repeating the same attack pattern every day on both side view mirrors, and nesting in the same tree.

Interesting behavior. Your links just take me to your root directory, however.

Best,
Jim

Sorry...try again. Looks like something weird in BirdForum's coding reduced the URL in size with the '...' in between imag and the number removing a bunch of important info! I reedited the links, and they still show with the ... but when I tested them they seem to point to the right images now. Just don't try the links in your quoted reply, as those are the dead ones. The missing bit in between should be the bold bit here: image128180279. I would have just posted the photos as direct links, but this forum doesn't seem to allow that.

Warblers are definitely around in August in Miami-Dade. My earliest date for a Black-and-white Warbler is July 25th. In fact, a lot of warblers are passing through in August which are a lot more difficult to find in September so go out and look!

Thanks. They work now. Nice shots!

Best,
