Field guides - Oman (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

It' likely I'll be holidaying in Oman next March, was wondering if anyone could recommend a good field guide to use? I already have Helms 'Birds of the Middle East (2004)' (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Birds-Middl...=1382623210&sr=1-9&keywords=birds+middle+east). Is this enough?

There's a more recent (and more reasonably priced) edition of the Middle East guide - see here, but the old version isn't bad and was what I used in Oman without any problems that I can recall. There's also a very good site guide for Oman in case you're planning to travel around while you're there.

Thanks Stuart, I did notice the newer version but wasn't sure if it was worth spending out if it was similar.

I'll have a look into the site guide as well. It's a family holiday so not sure how much travelling around I'll get to do, but will be worth looking into it for some local places
