Looking for advice on birding west of the Severn.
In Awre/ Newnham on Severn picking up some Cider and would like to do some birding beyond Nags head.
Any idea and anything showing?

Thanks

Hi R. Can combine Nagshead with Cannop Ponds - Mandarin and Marsh Tits on the feeders. Plus at Parkend I’ve often seen Hawfinch by the cricket ground. Usually around January/ February.

Good luck with the cider.

New Fancy View is a great place for Goshawk spotting, well worth spending some time if the weather is good. Tends to be scope views though.

Went to Cannop and saw the Mandarins. Better half very happy. Also, tufties, widgeon, little grebes and a plethora of chaffiinches.
Got the long tail tits on the way home at Lanelli WWT.
3 cases of cider at £1.40 bottle! Bargain.

Nice. Been a few Spoonbills at Penclacwydd as well recently. If you’re on X/ Twitter it’s well worth following Bernie. He’s on BirdForum and he regularly post sightings from Penclacwydd/ Pwll/ Kidwelly/ Banc y Lord etc.
