?golden plover, Minsmere RSPB (1 Viewer)

to my untrained the attached two birds could either be golden or grey plovers
observed a few days ago at Minsmere RSPB

am i anywhere close in my ID ?

Hello,

yes, I agree with you, this species pair can be difficult. More so on pictures than in the field.
1 cy Grey Plovers (and some adults, too?) are warmer and more buffy tinged. but the majority of Goöden Plovers are still warmer and more golden tinged. And your bird is warm biased (no offence you know).

Both birds are Grey Plovers by jizz (especially bulk) imo, and its one of those cases imo where its advisable not to look at the picture for a long time.
