It was freezing out in the early hours last Friday, so I didn't take time to double-check, just took some quick pics ... which did not turn out all that well. At the time I assumed the black-backed gulls we have here this time of year are pretty much only Greats, but now that I'm looking at the pics, I can't see white plumage tips along the tails. Also, they don't look enough bigger thsan the Herring Gulls. So now I wonder - GBBGs or LBBGs?
