Greetings from Japan to Fellow Birdwatchers! (1 Viewer)

Hi Noujon

Welcome to the BirdForum
Enjoy sharing your birding experiences on here. Love to hear of your conservation experiences
Hi Peewit:)

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm all a-flutter with excitement to share my birding escapades and conservation capers.

Wow, you really hit the nail on the head about my love for ground-dwelling birds! Could it be that you're one of the wonderful people who watch my wild bird videos? If so, that would absolutely make my day!

Ah, by the way, I don't speak Mikawaben, but I can understand it;)
Give us some links so we can see what you’ve been doing!

While it seem that touhoku and kagoshima get the notoriety as the hardest to understand, it seems that mikawa is the strangest and most surprising to hear!

Ah, I thought you might already be tuning into my birdwatching adventures on YouTube. My bad if I got that wrong💦 I'd share my video links right here, but it might come off as a bit too self-promotional. If you're curious, you can find the link to my channel in the 'About' tab on my profile.

As for dialects, you're right that Mikawaben has its quirks! It's famous for adding endings like 'jan,' 'daraー,' and 'rin' to words. But let's not forget about Okinawan dialect—that one's often considered the real brain-teaser. Mikawaben might not be the hardest to grasp, but it sure gets a lot of airtime, especially since local leaders love to use it 😅
