Grouse I think. Saskatchewan (1 Viewer)

Saw only the head and neck of this bird sticking up above the tall grass. The height of the grass tells me that this is a fairly large bird, larger than a chicken. Some kind of Grouse? Possibly Sage Grouse or Prairie Chicken? Your thoughts, please.

A look on eBird suggests that your bird is likely Greater Sage Grouse or Sharp-tailed Grouse. Both the prairie chickens would be quite rare in Saskatchewan. It might be helpful to look at the range maps for the two grouse as they have a different range within Saskatchewan. Also, consider the type of habitat.
