Gull on the banks of the Dodder river in Ireland (4 Viewers)

This, I know is a Black-Headed Gull- but is there anyway of knowing its age or gender? Photo taken this morning on a frosty day

A precise age, no. It's an adult in winter/non-breeding plumage, so in at least its second-winter (or 3rd calendar year if you prefer), so hatched in 2022 or earlier.
Males & females not separable in the field, unless you see them mating, but males may be bigger/bulkier if side by side comparison is made (but this is by no means definitive).
