Hartlaub duck, Wattled Plover, northern Angola (1 Viewer)

In my Landie, under a tree
Dear all,

It's a while since I contributed to BF.

Yesterday I took this photo of a Hartlaub duck, which I have little info on, and couldn't find in your database.

Also is a picture of a Wattled Plover taken three weeks ago, which I also couldn't find. Interesting are the darts on the birds chest which don't appear in my Collins bird book. What are they for?

Are these of interest for your database, and should I put them in my Gallery first?

Thanks,

Mike

Thanks! I've added both to the OPUS:

... and the duck to the database:

In general, I'd recommend posting such photos in the gallery. More people will see them if added to the gallery, and they're easier to search for in the future (e.g. if people are searching for photos of species X in the gallery, and you only added the photo in this section of BirdForum, it won't turn up in the search). In most cases a moderator will notice species that are lacking in the OPUS/database when placed in the gallery (if not, a PM to a moderator or a post in this section will solve that). However, both options work, and if you prefer to post photos of species not yet featured in the gallery/OPUS in this section of BirdForum rather than the gallery, that is fine, too.
