Hello from Oregon (2 Viewers)

Hello everybody!

I won't say that I'm exactly an active birder, but rather I just wait for the birds come to me... I have a rather interesting variety of birds that show up at my window (I have a couple of feeders there) and usually there's a digital SLR lying around.

I found this site from a Google search looking for help identifying a species of hummingbird that showed up this morning at my window. I'll be posting a picture in the relevant section shortly.

Hi there Duncan and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum.

We're glad you found us and thanks for taking a moment to say hello ;)

Hard to imagine a hummer in Oregon this time of year. A very lucky you.

thanks to everybody for the welcome!

K C,

Hummingbirds do look somehow a little out of place in the snow... but actually we've seen quite a few recently. The one I saw today (I'm thinking that it's probably an Anna's hummingbird, based on gallery pictures on this site) hung around outside my home office window most of the day. It's not of the species I typically see, though.

(I posted the pictures here, btw: http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=75980)

Regards
Duncan
