Does anyone know the latest publication date for this title? It was originally due for publication this month (Nov 09) but A&C Black's website now simply states that "This title is not currently available for order"

I was rather hoping that i might have got this as an xmas pressie - is this being unrealistic??!!

I'm also eagerly awaiting this book, but on another thread (http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=156625, post #7), birdboybowley mentions a publication date of April 2010.

[I now treat any announced publication dates for birding titles with complete scepticism. Most publishers seem to be compulsive, serial liars - keen to generate interest in 'imminent' titles, while fully aware that in reality they are many months (or even years) downstream. :C]

Thanks all for the info, i've just had the latest Subbuteo catalogue through which also states April 2010.

I guess i'll have to choose something else for crimbo then!

Does anyone have any views on the Helm Shrikes book? I know the taxonomy is somewhat out of date, but i wondered about the plates, texts and treatment of subspecies - is it any good?
