Help Needed with Lizard in Terrible State!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (1 Viewer)

I have just seen a Cat jump on a Lizard and attack him, I really don't know what to do, I have just grabbed him, taken him home, and I really don't know what to do next, he is in a terrible state, has torn scales and no tail, and is hardly moving. Please Help me, give me advice PLEASE!

I have just swabbed his wounds with salt water, which is recommended... Tomorrow is Sunday, so all the vets will be closed, and there is supposed to be some kind of antibiotical stuff which should save him.. Considering he was attacked by a Cat it is likely that he has bacteria in his wounds...
Any ideas on food I can provide him with for the night ect...

The loss of tail is a common defensive strategy I believe. Would recommend finding a quiet secure place, eg in a logpile or pile of stones, and letting it go there to take its chances. I would think the less handling, eg to treat with antibiotics or whatever, the better ...I doubt bacteria in the wounds are this lizard's chief concerns.

Just more proof that pet owners need to keep their pets in check, in other words, in their homes and not roaming, killing and maiming wildlife.
