Hummingbird I.D - Honduras North Coast (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

Had this strange hummer mobbing a Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl at sea level near La Ceiba. Looks a bit like Garnet-throated but no rufous wings and would be horribly out of range and altitude.

What do you think?

Hi Lev,

Your bird is a Green-breasted Mango. It is in an interesting, 'tweener plumage. It's a young male (showing rusty and white in the malar area), but already has a dark breast. It's further along than this example, but you get the idea.
