Hello. 56 years old. Enjoy the birds in my vacinity but do not seek them. Son had biology class in college last spring where he had to take his own pics of 50 animal species and birds were half of report. It’s was fun to help him.

Then in winter during Texas freeze to 7 degrees I had feeder for 2 Rufous hummingbirds (I think but were not Ruby Throated). I place a heater near by and they would roost and sleep in front of heater until I lost power. I wonder if they survived? Anyway hummers are back so decided to join your forum.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group. I am betting they did survive. Hummingbirds can go into a state called torpor, which helps them.
