An effort of folks from the Kansas Ornithological Society and Kansas Dept of Wildlife and Parks has produced a new Kansas Birding Trails website.

For those unfamiliar with Kansas, it's a big (almost) rectangular state in the middle of the lower 48 US. The site runs down why you might think about visiting Kansas to bird as the crossroads of eastern and western North American birds and a major stopover on the migratory flyway. It provides 12 short driving trips across the state's varied habitats from suburban reservoirs to osage forests to tall grass prairies to Ramsar wetlands.
