Hi
I apologise for these 4 dreadful photos taken today at Wergs Hall, Wolverhampton, but I am presuming these are Large Red-eyed based on the pattern of the tip of the abdomen (the amount of blue)?
Thing that confuses me, is that the other distinguishing feature suggests Small Red-eyed Damselfly, that being segments 1-2 of the abdomen were pale blue/grey and not blackish as they should be for Large Red-eyed Damselfly, and better for Small Red-Eyed Damselfly.
Thoughts?
