Normally, I travel further to enjoy wildlife but lockdown forced me to stay local. Living close to Lee(Lea) Valley Park I decided to rediscover the place. Lot's of nice, secluded spots to enjoy birdwatching. Might even get a portable hide to get better shots. Attached is a photo of heron on a freezing, misty morning few weeks ago.

The only report I'm aware of is a flypast over south-eastern part of Hooksmarsh Lake

Last year around this time I visited Otmoor. Heard one booming in the reeds within meters of me. Amazing sound.
