Hi Foscobird and a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Staff and Moderators.

There's a strong Yorkshire contingent on here and I'm sure you'll come across them soon.

Hi foscobird,

Welcome to BF. I live just down Airedale in Shipley, and I lived in Leeds for 12 years (though I'm a blue Mancunian by birth).

As Delia said, lots of Yorkshire birder on here. Here's the Yorkshire sub-forum:

Lots of friendly, active birders and groups in your area too, with Craven and Pendle RSPB group based in Skipton, Bradford Ornithological Group based in Bingley, and Bradford and Airedale RSPB based in Shipley, although you may already be aware of all of those.

All the best

This is the thread for all things Yorkshire

Yorkshire Birding

Keep a look out for threads starting Tyke Meet or Yorkshire Meet, they are detailing when and where the Yorkshire BF members are next having a birding session. Next one is this Sunday at Bolton Abbey, meeting at 5.00am at Barden Bridge.

We hope you'll join in with the threads and maybe come along to one of the Meets.

Hello! Thanks for the replies. Great to feel welcomed by my fellow countymen/women! I'll have a look at the leeds sub forum, really want to take the lady out to some good birding spots, so i'll presume i'll find them in there?? Or any you can recommend?

Hi Foscobird

If you have a look in Opus you'll find lots of sites in Yorkshire that you can visit. I'm sure you'll find somewhere to suit you from that lot.;)

From there you can navigate to anywhere in the world that takes your fancy.
