Even in the condition they're in the optics seem pretty darn good
I have to admit - after seeing the pic you took of the red-shouldered hawk through your binoculars, and yes, taking into account the assorted factors involved - the target being close, the phone camera you used to capture the image not having the sensitivity of the human eye, the inevitable wobble/jitter etc... - the image still seems pretty good. There are a lot of binoculars out there that may not offer the performance of modern ones but are still very capable of giving good service.
