Loons or Grebes or...? & Common Goldeneye muddle - Camano Washington State USA (1 Viewer)

All seen last week in cold, rainy weather at a west side beach. Sometimes you can't wait for a perfect day.

1 - 4) Seen at extreme distance, well into the channel. Yes, bad photos, but the best I have of the pair.
5) The cheek patch seems Common Goldeneye, but what's with the muddled chest and side markings? Seen in the company of Barrow's.
