Has nobody caught anything since thursday?? i've not been running the trap as the winds been a bit too bad and its also been very cold! Will give it a go tonight though.

I had a small catch on friday of the usual species but nope a few days rest for me as the weather has turned cold at nights, with a frost predicted in the morning.
Tomorrow night looks milder though so the trap will be plonked out :)

Very little tonight as the temperature dropped rapidly, here is my short list.

Haven't run for a week and only seen the odd moth out and about so don't think I've been missing much. Will run tonight though as the conditions appear to be much better. Still not expecting very much.

Had some more encounters with Orange Underwing at the weekend and found a really nice stand of Aspen so Light Orange Uw could be on the cards shortly.

A little warmer this evening but just the usual suspects so far....

Hebrew Character 3
Common Quaker 3
Early Grey
Double-Striped Pug 7
Emmelina Monodactyla

Plus two unknown species i have put on the ID thread,i'm ok with macro's but get a little stuck when it comes to pyralids and tortrix moths.

It was distinctly milder than forecast here. A short session produced:
small quaker 26
common quaker 15
Hebrew character 1
Clouded drab 1
Early Grey 1
Nut-tree tussock 1 (nfy)

I've still not had powdered or twin-spot quaker, despite c500 Orthosia moths so far this year.

Looks Ok for Clouded Drab to me, presuming size and everything looked ok to you at the time.

That is a very early conwagana record.

Thanks, Brian.
It's bright and sunny here today, so perhaps that is encouraging the early emergence of a few species?
I agree on your comment on spring usher, I haven't had one for several weeks now.
