Hello to all lovers and connoisseurs of Florida birds! Not so long ago we moved to Tallahassee and now a few months later we are planning a mini vacation that we would like to spend alone with the local flora and fauna. I would be very grateful if you would recommend interesting, picturesque places, of course, with a concentration of different species of birds, which I can find 2-3 hours away from Tallahassee. I look forward to receiving recommendations! Have a nice day!

I can't help you with your question but I would like to say:

Hi there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum (y)
We're glad you found us and please join in wherever you like. ;)

St. Mark’s NWR is one of our favorite places to explore when visiting Florida. Many impoundments and trails to hike. We also like to visit St. George island for a more coastal environment. In Gainesville, there is Paynes Prairie, another Florida gem for both birding and hiking. Then, there’s the Atlantic coast, especially Fort Clinch and the areas east of Jacksonville.
Your problem may be where to start first! You should have years of exploration ahead of you.

Steve

Very grateful! St. Mark's NWR sounds like a good plan for a first trip, I'm also captivated by the proximity to the city
