Myanmar/Burma tips request - family trip (2 Viewers)

We are contemplating a family trip to Myanmar around Christmas '10/New Years '11. My spouse is an art historian, and we will be traveling with a 6-yr old boy. I'd appreciate any tips on worthwhile birding options given these constraints, particular good sites that are also cultural highlights, and not too far off the beaten track (but ideally not too crowded either). I'd particulary appreciate specific suggestions on non-expensive places to stay or guides (and we'd prefer to use inns and vendors that are small and NOT government-sponsorted). If there are good sites that are reachable but not popular destinations, I've love to know that as well.

thanks, jeff b

P.S. Thanks to BirdForum for creating this new forum. I'm glad to see there's some quick interest. It sounds like a fabulous destination.
