Mystery bird outside Las Vegas USA (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I heard a bird loudly calling from some cottonwood trees in my neighborhood about an hour outside of Las Vegas Nevada US, and neither Merlin bird ID nor the more savvy birders I know could figure it out. It was quite loud and sounds vaguely like a raptor, but I’m unsure. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, there are a few other birds in the recording. Ignore the house sparrows and Eurasian collared doves.

I think the original poster meant the more squeaky sounds at 0:01 and 0:08.

'My' Merlin says Gambel's Quail, even though your recording seems higher pitched than the example recording in Merlin. BirdNET doesn't seem to return any sensible results (though it has Gambel's Quail very low on the list). You'll need to wait for someone who knows the species to confirm the ID if it's indeed it.
