Need ID please of bird in south Texas near Rio Grand river (1 Viewer)

Hello!
Took these 2 photos at 10:30 am , Nov. 11, 2018 in Harlingen, Texas, in southern Texas near the Rio Grand River. The bird was sitting low in a gnarly bush. It was about the size of a robin. I am thinking maybe it is a mockingbird or a cuckoo. If anyone knows or has any ideas, please write me back.

Although out of range!...I’m wondering if Bendire’s Thrasher May be the culprit?

Why not curve-billed thrasher? Better fit than Bendire's on both range and eye color.

Definitely a thrasher. I would have thought Curve-billed, but not sure. Do you have any other photos, including any with a better view of the bill?

i don't have any more photos but i agree it is most likely the large bill thrasher.

You're probably correct! I've just noted the more contrasty pale tips to the greater covert bar.
