Hi to all on Birdforum,
I am from Johannesburg, South Africa and my husband and I are really excited to be visiting the UK in August for the Birdfair

Hi Jenny and a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I'll look forward to reading about what you see when out and about. I hope you have a good time at the Birdfair - you may meet quite a few members there.

Hi, the birdfair is a great event you'll enjoy it. (Try to catch some time with the Ospreys on Rutalnd Water while there)

Welcome to BirdForum! I am sure you will find lots to interest you here, and I hope you enjoy your visits. Hope you enjoy the fair.

Thanks to all of you. We did enjoy the Birdfair immensely and managed to control our spending a little bit - our exchange rate of R13.50 to the Pound was somewhat restrictive. We also managed to see the Ospreys and spent a bit of time in a couple of the hides. The people we met up with in the hides were really helpful and friendly. Thank you!
We also spent time at Titchwell, Cley and Minsmere. I can't wait to go back to Minsmere. It was so beautiful but our time there was severely curtailed by an evening thunderstorm and the need to get back to London early the next day for a flight to Stockholm.
This visit has given me a huge 'lus' (= desire in Afrikaans) to visit the UK again for more birding.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed the Birdfair Jenny. I was there on the Friday and really had to keep my wallet tucked away ;)
