News from Leica (10 Viewers)

I'm like you and don't want anything on my eyeballs (contact lenses), and I am very hesitant about lasik surgery etc. I know a few people who have had it done, and they all have this unexplainable weird look to their expression (kind of like a deer caught in the headlights) :eek!: , most report some sort of difficulty such as seeing halos around lights at night - not ideal when you are driving!
Very old thread I know, but after reading the whole thing through in my quest for reading more about the various Leica models found that no one who had lasik done countered this view. I had mine done over 20 years ago and have had nothing but positive results, as have everyone else I know, family members and friends alike. I remember reading about halos as a problem, but that was with a different procedure and I have no experience of halos or star effects. No more foggy glasses, no more dry eyes from contacts, it's been a good choice for me and I can't understand the "deer in the headlights" comment in relation to lasik.

Back to Leica in closing, it's very confusing to see the back and forth on various models from differing perspectives, which seems to be one of the benefits of a forum like this and for now I'm feeling fairly happy with my 8x32 BN and HD+ decisions, with the HD+ being my present favorite.
